What is Workable?
Workable is a modern recruiting platform used by thousands of small and mid-size companies worldwide. Its career pages are clean, mobile-friendly, and typically faster to complete than enterprise ATS portals. Workable is popular with startups and growing companies.
The application process
Workable applications are usually straightforward: upload your resume, add a cover letter, fill basic contact information, and answer any custom questions. The experience is designed to be simple and fast, which makes it one of the easier ATS platforms to apply through.
Tips for applying on Workable
Because Workable forms are short, the differentiator is the quality of your resume and cover letter, not form-filling speed. Tailor your resume to the specific job description and write a cover letter that references the company and role specifically. VeloApply works on Workable career pages, autofilling the form and tailoring your resume and cover letter per job.

What a Workable application looks like
Workable applications are usually shorter than the enterprise systems, which is why smaller and mid-sized companies favour it. Most ask for your contact details, a resume upload, and a set of questions the employer wrote themselves. The resume parse pre-fills some fields, and you correct what it got wrong.
The questions are where the variation lives. Because employers configure them freely, two Workable applications at different companies can feel completely different: one might ask nothing beyond work authorization, another might include several paragraph-length prompts.
Where people lose time
Two places. The first is the parsed work history, which looks fine at a glance and often has truncated employer names or wrong dates underneath. Read it rather than scrolling past it, since these fields are what the employer sees.
The second is the open-text questions. Writing those from scratch for every application is what turns a ten minute task into forty. Having your standard answers already written, then adjusting them for the specific company, is the fix.
How to tell you are on Workable
Check the address bar. Workable-hosted applications typically run on a jobs subdomain belonging to the employer or on Workable's own domain, and the form has a distinctive single-page layout rather than the multi-step wizard you get on larger systems. Knowing the system tells you what to expect before you start.
Filling it faster
The VeloApply extension fills the standard fields from your saved profile and drafts answers to the employer's custom questions, then highlights everything for you to check. You review and submit yourself, so nothing goes out that you have not read.
